Barnhall is holding a Major Summer Party next SATURDAY week, the 3rd of July.

It begins with a mixed Tag Tournament with prizes for the winners (plus the bonus of being crowned Tag Champions of Barnhall!), a tasty BBQ with a complimentary bottle of beer followed by dancing all night long to funky band After dawn. This is a much needed fundraiser for the club and a bargain night out for just €10 which includes playing in the Tag Tournament, a big feed of BBQ, a bottle of beer and a huge party in the bar afterwards to an awesome band!

It's important that people make the effort to support the club. If you can't make it on the night you might try to buy a ticket anyway, it is to help Barnhall!!

If you would like to enter the tag tournament please email asap to arrange your team's place. If you're not interested in playing just come along for the bbq and party!

Tournament starts 4pm, BBQ at 8 and dancing till late!

This year has been a bit of a “could have, should have” season for the Barnhall U'17's reaching the semi final of the Leinster League, the semi final of the Leinster plate and the semi final of the Leinster youths and Schools competition, always being the bridesmaid and not the bride!
While on the representative front, this year's crop of talented young bulls has been exceptional. The Metropolitan U17 squad has included 10 Barnhall players over the season, namely Jim Casey, Ollie Clarke, John Cullinan, Emmet Quinn, Dylan Shannon, Fergus Mahon, Sean Guiney, Cian Forde, Stephen Dwyer and skipper Dewi Harrison, resulting in 7 of those playing for the Metropolitan area in the Leinster regional blitz.
As a result of their excellent performances at the regional blitz, 5 of the young bulls were invited to attend the final Leinster Youth trial held in Naas on May 5th, Stephen Dwyer, Fergus Mahon, Cian Forde, Sean Guiney and Dewi Harrison all played and acquitted themselves admirably, successfully resulting with 3 Barnhall players being selected for the Leinster Youth squad for next season's inter pro series. While Sean Guiney and Stephen Dwyer, after 2 excellent performances, can count themselves very unlucky not to have been selected, Fergus Mahon (full back), Cian Ford (out half) and Dewi Harrison (front row) will represent Barnhall in the Leinster ranks next season.

Congratulations must go to all the lads involved and our best wishes and support to Fergus, Cian and Dewi in anticipation of the challenges they will now face.

More good news for next season's U17's! To keep up the momentum and follow in the footsteps of their elder team mates from this season, 5 of next years U17 Barnhall squad have been selected for the Metropolitan development squad throughout the summer and into next season, Jake Harries, Darragh MacBride, Allan Dardis, Jamie Murphy and Cian Smith will continue to fly the flag! Again congratulations to them all…. and a final note:

We caught up with Niel Beatty earlier in Barnhall and quiestioned him about the rumours that have been circulating Barhall all week. About the Hunky Dory girls. Dear Members of Barnhall RFC,

For those of you considering your off season training, Neil O'Brien, Old Belvedere's 1st XV Senior strength and conditioning coach, will be running a series of 8 week outdoor fitness programmes over the summer period commencing on 4th May in Lucan. Classes will be open to all and will offer a range of activities that will ensure you maintain, and perhaps improve, your levels of fitness during the off season.

Neil is a qualified IRFU Strength and Conditioning Coach and will bring this expertise to bear on these programmes.

Sessions will be on 2 evenings a week (Tues + Thurs) along with a bonus session on a Saturday morning for the very enthusiastic! Sessions will be held in St. Mary's BNS, Chapel Hill , Lucan. Neil will also be conducting sessions in Shankill ( Shanganagh Park ) and Ballsbridge (Old Belvedere/St. Michaels). There will be 2 levels of class, intermediate and advanced. Those who are looking for a challenging fitness regime, and who are serious about their off season training, should sign up for the advanced class. Intermediate will cater for all levels.

Classes will be competitively priced when compared with other options-important in these recessionary times! 24 sessions will cost just €120!
